Bridge Over the Atlantic Lisa J Hobman 9781939217431 Books

This was very first read by Lisa J. Holman and I am now anxiously awaiting the next book. This book definitely took you through the emotions and I will truthfully tell you if you don't like a tear jerker story don't read this and if you don't like surprising turns don't read this. BUT IF YOU DO YOU WILL DEFINITELY WANT TO READ THIS BOOK!! I happen to love a book that makes me emotional since it means I invested in the characters. I'm not going to talk too much about the story and the main characters because I don't think you really can without giving some real spoilers. I will say I loved Mallory, Sam, Josie, Brad, Greg, Renee, Ryan, Cora, Colin, Stella and the rest so much. they are all very interesting characters.
The only problem I had at all was that it was written in English and some gailec which I not familiar with. But I muddled through it and enjoyed it. I am sure someone from England and Scottland probably struggle when reading anything written an American author, so there is no way I will hold that against the author or the book.
I TRULY BELIEVE YOU SHOULD READ, IT REALL A GREAT STORY OF LIVING AFTER TRAGEDY HITS.

Whew...What a beautiful rollercoaster ride of emotions! The beginning was almost the ending for me, but with red swollen eyes and a very red nose, I decided to ride this story out and WOW...I am so very happy that I did. What an amazing, emotional, beautiful, sexy ride!! I fell head over heals in love with these beautiful characters. I also will have a forever have a wonderful sound track of amazing songs in my heart and I want to thank you Lisa, for introducing new music to me, as music is a VERY IMPORTANT part of my life!!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this beautiful love story....but make sure you have a huge box of soft tissues handy..YOU WILL NEED THEM..for ugly tears, happy tears, and tears of joy and best of all..tears of love!! <3 <3 <3
Bridge Over the Atlantic was a delectable novel—proportionately interspersed with moments from everyday life, romance, humor, emotions born of profound loss, and second chances. The setting was made delightfully apparent by tidbits of charming British and Scottish slang and vivid descriptions. The heroine, Mallory Westerman, was a character I found easy to relate to—a woman who struggled with self-esteem issues, life decisions, and whom to allow into her heart. She had her little house, her shop, adorable canine companion, and a couple of close friends. Then she literally fell into the arms of Sam Buchanan. Sam, who was a hundred kinds of wonderful thoughtful, playful, funny, sexy, and adoring of Mallory.

Whilst (<---a gesture to the lovely language of the book) Sam and Mally were dreamily making plans, there was this instant. An insinuation was made, but I shook my head and dismissed the worrisome feelings, thinking I was reading too much into it.

Some dreams were realized, while others were destroyed. As a reader who develops real feelings for fictional characters, I had the breath knocked out of me, but perseverance was called for—there was so much more to the story. There were souls in need of restoration, serious decisions to be made, new friendships to be considered, and a new man, Greg—a somewhat grumpy and reluctant hero whose actions, rather than his words, spoke for his true and musical nature.

This was a second-chance story of two grieving people determined to make their life together their first priority.

Bridge Over the Atlantic was quite the lovely read!

This is the first of Lisa's books I read and I have to say I can't wait to read more.
Mallory is just a doll. She is an intelligent, successful, beautiful and curvy woman. She is insecure and she try hard to focus on her job..until she falls into the arms of an handsom stranger, Sam.
Sam is good-looking, sweet and nice guy and you could feel how good he is for her. They fall in love and after living together they decide to move to another country and start a new life.
What happens then is something I'm not goingt o tell you or I would spoil everything..just know that I didn't see it coming, and if I did I was in denial.
Here comes Greg..I have to say I love this man. He is grumpy most of the time and doesn't know how to treat people really, but the more he and Mallory spend time together the more you get to know him..and you will fall for him..hard!
There are lots of ups and downs, secrets and loss..so many different emotions. I could feel happiness and pain, I laughed and cried, swooned and cheered.
I couldn't put it down and I was lucky enough to read the book right after Bridge of Hope, greg's POV, came out..so I'm going to dive right in.
Loved the story and the characters, the songs, the backgrounds..everything really!
Bridge Over the Atlantic is a beautiful story about love, and how it's not always so simple and straight forward. When I started the book I thought I knew what it was going to be. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, they have some hardships but live happily ever after. Isn't that the timeless formula for romance that we all love?

But Lisa turned all my expectations around and showed me a story with so much more depth than I expected. There was heartache, tears, laughter. It's been a while since I read a book where I was really immersed in the characters and I can honestly say this book really drew me in. I cried with Mallory. I laughed with her. I felt her pain and her joy. Lisa took me on a journey and introduced me to a whole new life.

Music is a large part of the story and I loved the soundtrack that went along with the book. The best part was I knew most of the songs, and I knew exactly the message being sent through them. It brought a reality to the story that I loved, and also brought back my own memories that are associated with the songs mentioned.

In conclusion Lisa J Hobman writes a truly beautiful contemporary romance that is raw and real. If I could give this book 6 stars I would. It's probably my favorite book I've read this year. 5 out of 5 stars.
